Seizing the Sunshine

8 AM: Sun's out. Skip work. Go somewhere!

Never underestimate the importance of a backpack. Luke calls it his "batpat," and has often wanted to wear Dad's, telling us he's going to "werp" (work) with either Poppy or Daddy, depending on his allegiance that day. Donning a backpack = you are VERY important. So when Luke opened up a backpack his size at a recent Christmas party used-toy exchange, his life was forever changed.

Off to the car for our morning adventure.

It is hard to carry a backpack when you don't have shoulders.

Whoa!!!

Happily on our way. (Don't you just want to give him a smooch?!?)

Stop 1: "Paradise Beach." Paradise? Beach?

Plopped on a pile of rocks eating one of his four "tin tin tins" (tangerines) for the day, organic and wonderful, straight from Poppy's tree.

Fishylips = where are these fish in the American River you kept telling me about?

The hill of men's greatest dreams.

"Hi, Mom!" (For some strange reason, Bethany did not feel like hiking to the top.)

Stop 2: Downtown Sacramento. What fun in our own back yard! Ramps, boats, and trains, oh my!

Massive size differential.

The men are really good at "choo choo"ing for the camera. (And their lady thinks they're veeeery handsome.)

"Here, Luke, let me help you."
"NO DA DUM!"

"Loop peese" ("Luke, please" = "I want to do it all by myself, thank you very much").

Ho ho ho, choo choo choo, Meeeery Christmas!

The one of Loop on the train tracks is vibrant! I like it. -Tam
I love him in the batpat! And the "WHOA" pic... and the unbridled joy on the tracks... and the intensity of concentration as he walks the "bap beam", "Loop pease"...
for the blog I have this to say...
"da dum"
