We got to spend an afternoon with Bethany's cousin, Shanon. Luke performed a thorough investigation of his cousin before deeming her worthy of holding him.
Reading "Pat the Bunny" with Shanon was no casual affair. That book is serious business.

More family time... Cards at Aunt Robin and Uncle Richard's house in Sacramento.

We loved Aunt Robin's line: "Oh, Bethany, you shouldn't have to take care of the baby!" (Then we all laughed and thought that if Dan and Kristen heard that, they couldn't help but move here...)

Beautiful shots of Luke with his auntie.

Luke makes a zooming beeline for three things: An open front door, an open bathroom door, and an open refrigerator door. This time, the bathroom door got closed before he could reach it, but he analyzed the crack underneath to see if he could slip through. (He does this often, maybe hoping the crack will expand?)
We have discovered that our back "patio" (i.e., dirty storage deck) is a favorite play spot for Lukey. He has all sorts of fun out there with Dad. Then he comes in covered with dark dirt, evidence of a life well lived.
Oh, the delights of digging through Mom's purse, pulling out item by item and analyzing each treasure. (Tearing up only the worthy morsels, like her "to do" lists.)
Every morning, Luke wakes up in bed with us (yes, we cave in) (every night) and hops up to stare at, then point to, then grab our wedding picture.

This is "The Point." He gets a really serious look on his face, juts his arm out stick-straight, and stretches his hand toward whatever it is that he loves.

This is the best shot we could get to document the 10-month birthday of Mr. Luke. Overexposed, we know. But here he is in all his pajamaed, early-morning glory.

Hah! Love the last picture. He looks so old with his hair cut! And his delight-list is great. Since his #1 favorite thing is peas, Christmas shopping will be easy! (easy peasy? groan...)
Whew, I was worried that "fans" had been left off the list! I remember how mesmerizing he found it as a newborn - how he would crank his little neck, straining to see it and stare...stare...
And don't forget GG Bear, who makes his whole face light up! ;)
Love the b&w's of him with Auntie Robin!
good stuff!
Wow, how much fun! I love his 10 month photo, overexposed and all. He looks so grown up and serious. It's so fun to follow your adventures and get a little glimpse into some of what we might have coming. Luke found himself a pretty fabulous set of parents!
yep, it's official. we're gonna get along great. only, now he needs to grow up so we can go on serious adventures!
So cute! You will have to teach me the slippery fish song! Never heard of it!
