The Armstrongs

And the last of our pictures from Canada...

...of family, friends... the people we miss.

Although we didn't remember to snatch pictures of all the friends we got to see, our computer hard drive does not mind. We took way too many pictures. One set of friends we got to hang out with was Nathan and Julia Hoeppner and 12-week-old Owen. Owen was such a chubby little cutie! (Meanwhile, Luke gave his "chimp lip" for the camera.)

We also got to see Jeremy and Theresa Epp, friends from college, who are expecting their own little munchkin in just a few more months.

The Savages, longtime nextdoor neighbors, also paid a visit to see Mr. Luke. (They came to see us too, we assume?)

Mandie's good friend Jasmine came by as well, but not just by herself... with a bag of Winnipeg necessities: a fleece camo hat and some gloves. Here Luke checks her out while Mandie and she try to dress him in his new attire.

It was a grand ol' time meeting up with Richie's dad's two brothers, Uncle Don and Uncle Paul, who kept Richie entertained with lots of family stories he had never heard before.

Three generations of Armstrong men. We all sure do miss Dad/Grandpa Clive.

And yet being in Winnipeg, we could not help but be grateful that Luke will not grow up grandpaless. He and Grampa Tony have formed a wonderful mutual admiration society.

Doesn't Luke look like a baby chimp here? Auntie Chrissie always did like monkeys...

All these people we miss... We very much miss Auntie Mandie, who got to spend so much time with Luke.

She gave him early-morning tickles!

It is odd (and sad) that the only few pictures we have of Lukey with Gramma won't upload to the blog for some reason. But pictureless Gramma, we all miss you very much...

And now for a few pictures from our trip that are of nothing in particular, just classic Lukey shots:

This one's not posed. We really do have a bona fide bookworm on our hands.

Hello there!

The story of our trip: Sleep-deprived Luke. Rubbing his ears, rubbing his eyes, grumping, and yet resisting sleep with everything he's got...

Yawn.

Rub a dub dub! Two men in a tub. One much smaller than the other.

And now for the trip home. First, a little fun in the Winnipeg airport:

Walking. This is what we did up and down and up and down and up and down and up and down the aisles of the plane.

Luke lets nothing get in his way. On a mission.

In the airport, he had a lot of fun with a glass wall. Bethany had tears streaming down her face in laughter.

12 hours of traveling and not much more than an hour of sleep... California, here we come!

Oh, my! Those glass pictures are priceless. Funniest things ever. He will enjoy looking at all these pictures when he's older.

Sorry, that last one was from us, not Gracie. She had logged on last, and it defaulted to her name! :/

I was going to say... NO WAY that was a comment from Grace. :) My favorite picture is the first glass one - he looks like a Shrek baby with his nose pressed like that! :D
