A New Resident on Sesame Street
Oscar the Grouch just got a new roommate to share his garbage can: Luke.
We have renamed him Luke Samuel Armstrong-the-Determined-to-Be-Miserable.
Luke has been so very cranky the past few days, waking up screaming at 1AM and waking up screaming at least once an hour after that. He also arches his back and screams at us when he does not get his way (like if the Cheerios don't come his way fast enough, or if we dare to feed him vegetables he despises). He even saw his beautiful cousin Kristen last night and cried miserably every time she smiled at him.
What a GRUMP!
Have the terrible twos have hit eighteen months early? Or maybe he's just tired of us and wants to live in Oscar's trash can.
Mooner.
"Mom! Mom! Look what I can do all by myself!" (Standing up in his crib is his current favorite pasttime.)
Richie: "Would you ever put that picture on the blog?" Bethany: "Sure, why not?" Here it is, folks. Proof of Bethany's afro, which she can recreate at a moment's notice. This, dear friends, is why her hair is always in a bun.
"Helping" Mommy put away dishes.
"Helping" Mommy put away clothes. (What would she do without his help, really now?)
Luke has mastered the art of lounging. The other night we went to our friends' house, and they put a "Boppy" pillow on the couch for Luke to sit in as we all watched TV. Luke knows TV is a "no no," so he sat there, arms on the Boppy, completely relaxed and lounging, then looked over at everybody, one by one, to smirk.
Eating.
Eating.
Eating.
Eating.
Eating.
Eating.
Eating.
Eating.
Luke went to Sacramento to visit his cousin Alexander, who traveled from New Jersey for the week. Luke and Alexander wanted to join the other menfolk for darts, but stayed inside with the cooing ladies instead. (Poor boys.)
This is sweet and charming Alexander with gorgeous Kristen. Imagine! Luke crying at her! (Maybe he has a mad crush on her, realizes she's taken, and mourns at every remembrance of this fact?)
Luke, all dressed up for the occasion of seeing his cousin again, poses with his handsome Poppy.
OK, so he wasn't grumpy EVERY second of our time with the cousins. (But close.)
The boys with their beautiful Noni and Grammy.
And finally, Luke with his one and only uncle, Uncle Shi. (Mohawk courtesy of Aunties Sam and Gracie.) (Thought you'd be impressed, Auntie Chrissie!)

Great pictures, once again!! You are such a good photographer, Bethany. And kudos to your mom for making Alexander laugh out loud for that one picture! I tried her technique today to no avail. (Hm. Perhaps there should be grandma workshops for this?)
Wow - that's an amazing afro!!! (You could be a new happy character in sesame st with hair like that - the "happy blonde monster" to tackle Oscar the grouch...
He is soooo adorable, and so is his cousin! It is so cute to see them with their grannies!!!! Love the granny pic. :)
if only there was opportunity for as much documentation of him sleeping as there is for him eating. alas. (says the one who doesn't hear him cry at night nor who has to respond to his wails...)
Alexander sends his "agooos" of thanks for the use of the Moses basket and Infantino play center. He and his mommy left today, and we already miss them! Thanks goodness I can get a Luke-fix soon...
Great Auntie Robin
Such cute pics---I am glad that we were able to see you! And thanks for the toys and basket!!
Sweet afro Bethany, I think you should wear it out more often!
