3 Days?
We've started to receive the, "How is Bethany doing? How is she feeling? Is the baby here yet?" phonecalls, so we figured we'd set the record straight and say:
Bethany is doing great.
She is feeling great. (10-11 hours a night of sleep magically does that to you.)
And nope, the baby's not here yet. Duedate is Monday. 3 more days. Recent statistic from midwife: 70% of first-time moms deliver after their duedates. So there, there, don't get too excited.
But Bethany's feeling rumblings down there... little suspicious pains that could mean something's happening? Baby's been moving a lot lately, exercising to look extra cute upon Exit.
Richie has been busy meeting research deadlines. Meanwhile, Bethany has had deadlines of her own, both for the math textbook she's been doing work for and the rigid self-imposed deadlines of "preparing the nest" for the new little one about to hatch. Tweet, tweet.
Here, she cuts an onion for dinner. Swim goggles are Richie's trick for preventing onion-induced teary eyes. It works every time.
(The last shot of Bethany with Belly?)
More domestic deadlines: Getting homemade bread baked and stored in the freezer.
We were blessed with 8 days of nothingness over the holidays. So we ventured to the ocean 4 times in those 8 days. Here are some pictures of Richie surfing. The waves weren't the biggest, but he had fun anyway. We were happy for some sun!

Ah, homemade bread. It's really the best analogy of baby making. I'm not sure where the onions come into play, though, but you might want to keep the goggles handy.
Hold off one more day and your baby will be born on my birthday! The 9th! Love you guys! Praying... Emily
Wow you made bread..very impressive! But what exactly are the goggles for again?:)
