Pop.
We think the "pop" has finally happened.
Gracie's comment as she stared at Bethany's belly yesterday: "Bethany, you're getting bigger." [Yesssss.]
A fellow lap swimmer's comment today as Bethany got out of the pool: "It looks like you're starting to show a little bit!" [Starting? A little bit? Good enough for us! We've only had to wait 4-1/2 months...]
For the past two weeks, the little Determinator has been moving around each day, most often when Bethany gets into bed to go to sleep (zoom, zoom, bop) and when she does her daily lap swim (then the baby pushes straight out as far as possible, as if trying to burst out of the tummy into the water. A little swimmer in the making?)
The best was last Friday night when we were hanging out at another couple's house. We were playing cards, and Bethany had just downed a root beer. Although she is a former candy addict, she's not had much sugar since Armstrong the Determined made his/her grand appearance onto the scene. So the root beer made the baby go nuts. He/she was zooming around, thumping here and thumping there, a total hyper-child. Note to self: Feed this kid a sugarless diet until age 18.
Now at 20 weeks along, we have just 13 days to wait until we get to have the "big" ultrasound. Although we're not planning on finding out if the Determinator is a boy or a girl, it will be neat to see what he/she has morphed into. Here's a picture of when we last saw the little one (we call this shot our "Booger Baby" since that's the closest resemblance we could find):

Check back in 13 days to see an updated picture of the little one, who hopefully no longer resembles a booger...

I think scientists have long called this the "booger stage." Thankfully, the stage doesn't last long.
Thanks for sharing ultrasounds. We'll check back in 2 weeks!
Auntie Robin
P.S. Do you do requests? Popped belly pics would be nice.
Hey Mama B,
Those pics from tonight with your popped belly would probably satisfy Aunt Robin's curiousity and then some. :)
Love,
Shiloh
Hooray for true belly buttons (instead of just "button holes") and hooray for bouncing babies! I can't wait to hold the Determinator! We love you!
Dad and Mom
(aka Poppy and Grammy???)
Dearest Bethany,
How delightful to share in your joy and the stages of your pregnancy. I loved being pregnant so much that I would do it again and again....but...we have been blessed with 1 of each and what joys they are.
Your mom gave me the website and I will continue to look and follow the blessed event. He/she will be totally spoiled by everyone...especially grammy Kim.
love to you and Richie from the Hagens...leVearne, jay, jayson and miss rachel. :-)
ps..you looked absolutely beautiful and radiant.
