Auntie, Credit Cards, Bedroom, Poppy, Puddles, Timothy, Books, and a Haircut!

In that order.

Thursday morning with Sarah. Doesn't she look so beautiful these days?

Posing stoically with a little side-parted businessman hairdo. With Mom's credit card. He knows where to find it. Every time.

Bethany is working on Luke's Baby Book, and there is a page that asks for photos of Baby's room. Luke started life in Orchard Park at nearly three months old, and even then he lived in the corner of our office. But finally, we gave up the naive idea that babies don't need much space, and now, nearly 14 months later, the room is devoted just to him. We finally understand why people have a baby room: to contain the mess!

The boombox was a wedding present from Richie's Uncle David and Auntie Janice. Little did they know that three years later it would be used to play the same CD every nap time, every bed time... with a little country in between for Lukey to dance!

And the other corner of the room, with Richie's poor neglected surfboard in a time-out. :(

The sign on Luke's bedroom door: Italian for "Baby sleeping." HA! We clearly bought this before he was born.

We got a drop-in visit from Poppy, and Luke (as is his custom) immediately started to show off all his "stuff": new basketball hoop, trucks, toys, books... After showing off for a while, he sat with Poppy on the couch.

What a good daddy. Mom just watches Luke stomp in puddles. Dad joins in on the fun.

Remember Steve Urkel's pants from "Family Matters"?

Scab face. This is from Nick and Beth's camera from a month ago, in the days when Luke was taking horrible falls several times daily, usually landing right on his head. (Or nose.)

Jammie boys! Nick is looking for jobs, and has his first interview this week in Maine (they're trying to get as far away from us as possible while still remaining in the U.S.) We'll miss them so much! So in the next few months we will be packing in Nick-Beth-Timothy time. The little guys love each other so.

Look what Luke is pointing to.

Lukey begged Uncle Shiloh to read him a book, so Shi got on Luke's good side and read him his paramedics/fire truck book before pulling a Delilah and cutting off his hair.

"What in the world are you putting on my neck?"

Bracing for torture.

Someone cheered him up. Was it his gorgeous Auntie Sam? Blueberry remnants adorn his face.

Showing Luke the "machine." ("Vroom vroom!" says Luke at most machines. Not this one. Too scary. Too close. Too damaging. Shi gave Richie a haircut before he cut Luke's, and when Luke saw Richie's hair fall to the ground he seemed scared and totally tripped out.)

Shaggy, scared, blueberry-beard man.

Luke actually got so scared that he started sweating and shaking. :( So Daddy rescued him and squeezed him tight while Lukey's handsome uncle continued the job with scissors instead of "the machine."

Auntie Sam won the award for the night. She was the best distracter, and even made Luke laugh right in the middle of his haircut.

It's over, baby! High five!

Finally, a bath to wash off all the white hairs. And a set of nakeyshots, all trying to get just one good picture of Luke smiling. Alas. No such luck.

Concentrating hard to pick up his Old MacDonald John Deere tractor.

Still no smile. These things are very serious.

Right before a near-disaster, if you know what I mean. We caught it just in time.

Caveman.

Indulging in a no-no. (Yet another chunk off the Nerf ball.)

"NO! DON'T MAKE ME GO TO BED!!!" (Remember the sign on your door, Son, remember the sign.)

Finally, as a reward for any reader who has made it this far, we have something fun to tell you:

Lukey has a COUSIN on the way! Auntie Sam is PREGNANT!!! Yahoo! (Nice work, Uncle Shi! Thatta boy.)

So October 15th Lukey will be abdicating his throne as Only Grandchild...

And we are totally, completely, and utterly thrilled.

I'm sure he'll love the nudey shots when he's about 13.

The Erkle/huge bottom grey pants are my vote for good teen blackmail material. (And they think we just take pictures because they're cute...) Who am I kidding. He IS so cute!!!
P.S. We're also thrilled to hear about the newest Sorbello!

My vote is for the "just in time" shot, "if you know what I mean"... I laughed out loud! But also... note what Luke and Timothy are doing. Practicing for teen years, raiding the fridge? ;)

the blueberry smile with the haircutting cape exhibits his uncanny resemblance to calvin. i just can't get over it.

so... shi and sam, when will you start updating your blog every few days with pictures of your alien-shrimp-tissue-paper-looking baby?

Our first doctor's appointment is tomorrow, but I'm not sure if we will leave with a picture. When we get them, we'll probably start updating our blog... :)
