Pre-Christmas Cruising
Walking? Nah. (Luke still hasn't taken more than two steps at a time.)
Skateboarding is what's really fun.
A couple days before Christmas, we caught Luke zooming across our patio on Richie's skateboard. With one leg kneeling on the skateboard, the other leg pumping him along, he cruised nonchalantly across the wood planks like it was no big deal. But it looked hysterical. So we caught him doing it again on video and snapped a few shots:
Getting ready to board. (Luke has perfected the art of The Squat.)
The next step in preparing for departure.
Ready, set, GO!
"Why the camera? Really, Mom, it's easy..."
Usually he's content just to knee-walk and push the skateboard across the patio at incredible speeds. His little knees go back and forth so quickly he looks like he's on fast-forward.
Intermittently throughout his patio play, Luke comes to the glass door to make faces at us and play peekaboo (quite a marvel, playing peekaboo with a see-through door).
Sooooo big!
Sooooo big, in fact, that he insists on feeding himself.
And feeding everyone else. (He loves to share.) (Yuck.) (I'll pass on the goat yogurt and already-licked yams, but thanks anyway, Luke.)
"Excuuuuuuuuse me, but is that you, Mom, behind the camera?"
You know he likes his food when he asks for more with a high-pitched, high-volume scream. (Those who heard at Christmas dinner, we apologize.) (But what can a boy do if he is desperate for more blueberries and Mom just doesn't hand them over quickly enough?)
And speaking of Christmas, we have lots of photos from the big day. They're in our camera. And our camera's in.... um, not sure. We'll post them when we find it. (Having a puny camera has its down sides.)

1 Comments:
Maybe Luke will be the youngest skateboarder? Well, him and the bulldog skateboarder, but the dog has an advantage...four legs. :D
