A Monday Hodgepodge

Luke tries to pull to a stand using our top-heavy drum. Sometimes it falls on top of him.

But when it doesn't smash him to the ground, he gets a hefty reward: He gets to make NOISE!
And what is our little munchkin doing now?
Eating all his fallen food off the floor, of course. Food Luke rejected from atop his highchair suddenly becomes tantalizingly appetizing when smashed and hardened on the linoleum.
Close your eyes and try to hum the tune of "Reading Rainbow." Then look at this picture. Luke does his "Reading Rainbow" presentation of his very favorite book, "Giggles with Daddy." We have all the words to the book memorized. Luke is obsessed with this book, and a few others that have photographs of babies. He will crawl around the living room, sort out all the books, and pluck out his favorite--then lift it up for us to read it to him. He never gets bored of that book! (We, on the other hand...)

GET ME OUT OF ALL THIS LAUNDRY!!! (Clean laundry, Mom would like to note.)
Wow, Dad's lips are really cool.

Saturday visitors Robyn and J.D. came from Placerville to spend the morning, and Luke was in fine form, clearly twitterpated with Robyn and trying to show off!

Lo and behold, what book did Luke want J.D. to read him? "Giggles with Daddy are always a treat, giggles are silly, giggles are sweet..."

Luke sported his new camo pants from Grammy for the occasion. J.D. and Robyn were very impressed.
This week we learned that Robyn is pregnant! Luke has a new friend baking in the oven...

Grammy took Luke shopping one day this week so his mommy had time to visit Esparto Elementary. He came back with so many cute clothes! This polo shirt included. He has outgrown EVERYTHING! (Thanks so much, Grammy!)
Luke enjoys climbing up our legs. Dad's legs are more fun than Mom's, though--jeans are very boring to pull on compared to leg hair.
"Here I am, Mom! I climbed up your legs, now pick me up!" (Doesn't his face look smashed in this picture?)
Chairs are fun to pull up on, too...

There's a reason why Luke likes to read "Giggles with Daddy"--it rings very true in his wonderful little life!

Sunday-night crankies went away when Mom hopped in the crib with Luke. (This time he tolerated another book... phew!)

And finally, our all-time favorite picture of Luke, taken at Kinkos for his passport photo. It was a story so priceless it is impossible to describe. He had to sit on a stool, Richie holding the bottoms of his legs, and get his picture taken straight-on. Hard task for a wiggly baby. He leaned to and fro, bent all the way forward to play with Richie's hair, tilted his head far to one side, then far to the other side, clapped wildly (very excited and proud of himself), jiggled around... Finally we got a total mug shot. 8-month-old criminal. You name the crime. (The funny thing is that he'll have this passport until he's 5 years old...)

GREAT passport photo. With his new polo shirt he's looking even more like a little man! (Well, a foot-tall man.) So cute, he is.
He looks so serious in his mugshot, i mean passport poto! But yes, undeniably CUTE!
Dennis the Menace and Opie Taylor... perfectly combined in one mugshot...
what a boy! :)
SWEET mugshot. You should photoshop some black, horizontal lines behind his head on the white background. :)
i just can't get over that photo, and then thinking that he'll have it till he's five! whoa.
Wow! Luke has grown since the last time I saw him (which was only a few weeks ago?) Such a cutie!
SOOOO cute! He looks like Dennis the Menace, but 100x cuter!
