Pop!
Out came a tooth.
Yesterday.
Four days shy of four months old.
And another tooth is on its way.
Nursing should soon prove more exciting for his dear ol' mom.
Luke finally got to meet his Auntie Mandie, who came all the way from Canada to spend over a week with him. He repaid Auntie for her many kindnesses (like sitting in the back of the car singing him a high-pitched "Lambchops" song) by getting a cough, a stuffy nose, and gastrointestinal troubles; and by deciding to push out his tooth while she was here. Need we explain that he spent the week pretty grumpy?
Another of Auntie Mandie's kindnesses was bringing Luke more cute clothes, this hat included.
Yo, homies.
Mandie thought it bizarrely wonderful to meet, as she said, "a new 3-month-old human who I'm related to." Luke thought the same thing. They spent some time figuring each other out.
OK, all figured out now.
Luke knows how to use everybody's hands to his advantage. Our poor teething little fellow.
Luke has moved on from his lamby, giraffe, froggy, and glowworm friends. Now he's into scarier "big boy" things. Like monsters.
"Neener, neener, neeeeeeener, I'm taller than Mommy..."
While the rest of us played basketball, Luke's Grammy helped him suck his toe. Mmm.
Bethany's mom presented us with our wedding quilt. Three years and one baby later, it is amazing, and definitely worth the wait.
Luke hasn't learned to appreciate the quilt yet. He just crumples up into a babyball.
Luke takes his first ride on a swing! Compliments of Daddy.
You know you're a mom when your husband looks for the cell phone in your purse and pulls out a crinkly frog, a nursing cover, a diaper...
Auntie Mandie kept telling Luke that he is the handsomest boy ever. Bias runs in the family.
This is how Lukey loves to suck his hands: simultaneously giving us an "I Love You" in sign language.
An egotist is on our hands.
Luke used to love staring at his giraffe; now he enjoys pretending that he actually is a giraffe, small head 7 feet in the air...
Look at me!
Don't let this smile deceive you. Lately Luke has been a big fan of boldly sticking his bottom lip out and up when a stranger comes too close to him. ("Stranger" means anyone--even his only uncle, one of his biggest fans--who has not seen him in the previous 1 to 2 days.) Uncle Shiloh can tell you how it feels to have Luke give you that bottom lip. Or, unless you visit us every day, you might have to discover it for yourself.

Loved the new pics! And a new tooth, oh my ("yous" Bethany). It's been too long since I've seen him and now I'll have to experience the Lower Lip Thrust. Small price to pay. :)
Full disclosure: Not only Shiloh, but even his own Poppy got the lower lip treatment. Everything is now better, however. Luke's HomeBoy hat action pics are cool ++ . . . Grammy swooned. Get the smelling salts.
Thanks for all of the great pics, especially the close ups. Can't wait to see and hold him again. I'm sure I'll get the bottom lip!! :) He is precious!
The bottom lip isn't as bad as it sounds. While a brief blow to the deepest portions of my heart, I recovered quickly by laughing at how cute Luke looked when he was crying. It's actually kind of fun to make him cry, because the bottom lip action is so cute.
I can't wait to see the lower lip treatment. I like the sucking the toe pic..but I thought maybe he was picking his nose w/his toe..lol:)
Oh by the way I have the exact same nursing cover.
Slow that kid down - he's getting too big!
What a cutie..
