Ha Ha Chortle Chortle
Today for the first time we got Luke laughing. Purposefully. Repeatedly. The wonderful baby belly laugh that puts a happy tear in the first-time mommy's eye.
But tomorrow he may not be laughing, because his parents will pull a Delilah maneuver and attack his hair with scissors. Yes, his mullet will be snipped off. Blonde fuzz has claimed his scalp as its official territory, and his dark baby hair has cowered in defeat. So of course the last of it must be saved for his baby book. Rat tail, be gone!
This is the mullet we're talking about.
Bethany's dear friend, Sonya, from Esparto Elementary came to visit. Although she was staring at Luke, he refused to stare at her, and opted instead for his own fuzzy doggy slippers. He needs lessons on how to be social. "You're here to visit me? Cool. Let me stare at my feet."
Just this week Luke learned that not only are his hands connected to himself, but he can open up his hands and grab things. Oooooh. So grabbing his crinkly frog has become a favorite pasttime.
"Don't make me stand up!"
Luke got his first wheelchair ride when Katie came to dinner at Bethany's parents' house. (Katie is Sam's sister. Sam is Shiloh's wife. Shiloh is Bethany's brother.)
She had a magic touch!
Shiloh didn't have the same magic touch when it came to riding in Katie's chair. Splat.
Luke's first Easter! Can't you tell by the excited look on his face?
Following the Sorbello tradition, Luke had to search through the house for his Easter basket. He need a little assistance to find it.
The three of us on Easter.
"Mind if I eat all the chocolate?"
Small happinesses for small boys.
Well maybe this wasn't a small happiness. His basket was nearly his size.
We spent Easter with Bethany's family and her mom's sister, Robin, and her family. Here the men enjoy the back yard while the women were inside, racing each other in Speed Scrabble.
Luke was so happy to be rescued by his dad into the "man" area.
Luke's Great Aunt Robin tries to please a cranky baby.
Ah. There we go. (Exciting side note: Aunt Robin and Uncle Richard are now grandparents! Bethany's cousin Kristen just had her son, Alexander, last week. Luke can't wait to meet him! Although he's afraid Alexander might beat him up. Alexander weighed 10 pounds, 9 ounces at birth... watch out, Luke...)
Mooner!
