He's an Active One...
We now call 6pm to 9pm "The Witching Hour," as we try everything under the sun (er... moon) to get our overexhausted, tummy-filled-with-air little boy to sleep.
Richie zooms him in the air with rocketship noises, Bethany nurses him, Grammy rocks him, Poppy tries the football hold...
Then the rotation starts again, with new techniques: Richie zooming him around the kitchen in his stroller, Bethany bouncing him in the front pack, Grammy singing to him; and this goes on, and on, and on... for hours.
We take our turns, and finally the lucky winner gets him to sleep. (Usually Grammy, by the way.)
Ahh.
And we all hope that he keeps on sleeping. (He's had a trend lately of sleeping for 10-minute catnaps.)
Luke has made a new friend, Piglet. (Watch out, little Piglet, or the bear might eat you.)
Funny how you end up doing what you thought you would never do... Gasp! He has a pacifier. Usually, though, he just prefers sucking on his fist. (Never his thumb--he keeps trying it, gives a look like he has just eaten something nasty, and takes it right back out!)
Yet another technique we try when Mr. Luke gets grumpy...
Despite his nightly meltdowns, we can't help but be in love with the kid.
Baby's first shoulder ride! Yum, a mouthful of hair.
Whee!
Luke still loves to strike his fencing pose.
Well, okay, he's happy sometimes too. Especially when cuddled by his Daddy!
And yet another animal friend. This time it's Curious George.
Grammy helps Luke discover his feet. Normally these are wild little feet: When we hold him facing out, he wiggles his legs alternately, with great speed and coordination like he's running. Future track-and-field speedster like his dad?
The boys are all ready for church, just waiting for the girl... (What's new with the world?)
Yeah, they'd might as well sleep. It's going to be a looooong wait.
Today Luke is seven weeks old. Yesterday he was so excited about this major life event that he slept for only two hours all day, divided into four little catnaps. Party time! Awake all day! His mommy walked him around the house 7,956,482 times.

glad to see he doesn't look THAT different. sad to know that the next time i'll see him, he will no longer fit into his bear suit. long little lukie.
The good news is that when he's 12 he will sleep a *lot*.
I hope to see him next week! Before 6 pm! :D
My favorite pics are the ones with him on Richie's shoulders. :)
